Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C-Ballston) partnered with members of the Saratoga County Fair Board to host the seventh annual ThinkDIFFERENTLY Day at the Saratoga County Fair today. The event, held from 9 a.m. to noon, offered sensory-friendly activities including animal shows, ground demonstrations, and rides for individuals and their families to enjoy without flashing lights or loud noises.
Joining Walsh at the event were Senior Vice President of the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce Pete Bardunias, Saratoga County Fair General Manager Jennifer Flinton, Saratoga County Fair 4-H Ambassadors, Saratoga County Fair Pageant Queens, and her son Terry Hynes.
“It’s hard to believe we celebrated our seventh ThinkDIFFERENTLY event today,” said Walsh. “Each year, thanks to the feedback from our community, we’re able to make this event even better. Historically, individuals with different abilities have faced societal discrimination and exclusion from various aspects of life. ThinkDIFFERENTLY Day helps us move away from that history and toward a future of inclusion.”
“I’m incredibly grateful to all who have supported this initiative year after year. The Saratoga County Fair Board has shown its open-mindedness and dedication since Day 1, helping us bring this event to life! It’s heartwarming to see the joy and participation from families and individuals who benefit from this inclusive event.”
