State Senator James Tedisco, District 44 | Official U.S. Senate headshot
Senator Jim Tedisco, representing the 44th Senate District in New York, has officially commenced his fifth term in office. The swearing-in ceremony took place in the Senate Chamber, with Chief Judge Rowan Wilson of the New York State Court of Appeals administering the oath. Senator Tedisco's wife, Mary Song Tedisco, was present during the event.
In his remarks following the ceremony, Senator Tedisco emphasized his commitment to serving as a "strong and outspoken voice for the people" in the state legislature. He stated that his focus remains on working in a bipartisan manner to improve economic conditions and enhance safety across New York State. "I love the job of being a strong and outspoken voice for the people as a state Senator," he said. Highlighting his dedication to representative democracy, he added, "I've always said that the most important part of this representative democracy is not the elected officials and those in government, it's the people we have the high honor and privilege to represent."
The 44th Senate District encompasses all of Saratoga County, as well as Niskayuna and Schenectady City.
