Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C-Ballston) presented awards to the 2024 Women of Distinction honorees at the Edison Club. This annual event, hosted by Walsh, recognizes the contributions of outstanding women in Saratoga, Schenectady and Fulton counties who may not otherwise receive recognition.
This year's honorees include a dynamic leader transforming trauma recovery in the community through innovative programs, a devoted firefighter and EMT inspiring other women to join her profession, a passionate advocate for veterans and community service, an educator pioneering veterinary science education, a distinguished military leader breaking barriers, a tireless humanitarian advocating for marginalized communities, a philanthropic real estate professional giving back to her community and a committed public servant whose legacy extends far beyond her career.
"Hosting Women of Distinction gives me the unique opportunity to shine a spotlight on the remarkable achievements of our friends, colleagues, mothers, sisters and all the extraordinary women we know. These awards serve as a testament to their dedication, resilience and invaluable contributions to our communities," said Walsh. "Each of the women honored today represents the epitome of excellence in their respective fields. They are trailblazers, advocates and role models who share stories of service, leadership and innovation—their commitment to excellence and tireless efforts to uplift others exemplify the very best of our community."
Walsh expressed immense pride standing alongside these women. She extended heartfelt gratitude to every woman nominated this year for their selfless dedication to serving others. Additionally, she expressed sincere appreciation to the Edison Club for hosting this event once again.
The 2024 Women of Distinction honorees are: Rayn Boncie, Kim Byrnes, Denise Donnell, Noreen Gervasio, Erin Jennings, Leah Kane, Tammy Loya, Melissa Rathbun, Denise Stasik and Carter Stevens.
