Senator Jim Tedisco and Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh recently recognized the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School Field Hockey Team at the state Capitol for their achievement as the 2024 New York State Class B Champions. The team, known as the BHBL Spartans, secured their victory against Lakeland High School with a 3-0 win on November 17, 2024, at Arlington High School in Lagrangeville, New York.

Under the leadership of Head Coach Kelly Vrooman, the Spartans completed an impressive season with an undefeated record of 21-0. Since 2012, this field hockey program has accumulated numerous accolades including 11 sectional titles, four consecutive Suburban Council Championship titles, six appearances in the New York State Final Four, and now two NYS Class B Championship titles.

In recognition of their success, Senator Tedisco and Assemblywoman Walsh presented the team with copies of legislative resolutions passed in each house to commemorate their championship season.
