Senator Jim Tedisco recently welcomed seventh-grade students from Maple Avenue Middle School to the New York State Capitol. The visit included a discussion on the state budget process and insights into being a representative for the public.

Senator Tedisco, who is a former special education teacher and serves as the ranking member of the Senate Education Committee, expressed his enthusiasm for engaging with young students. "One of my favorite parts of serving as a representative in Albany is hosting school groups from the 44th Senate District and welcoming them to our historic state Capitol. I was very impressed with the questions and knowledge of state government that the Maple Avenue Middle Schoolers showed," stated Senator Tedisco.

The visit provided an educational opportunity for students to learn about state governance firsthand.
