Senator Jim Tedisco has voiced his concerns over the increasing number of unexplained drone sightings in Saratoga County and the broader Capital Region. He expressed apprehension about the potential compromise of safety and privacy for New Yorkers due to these incidents.
Tedisco emphasized the need for action from government leaders at all levels, questioning how the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Defense Department can claim ignorance of the drones' origins while simultaneously asserting they pose no threat. "That’s just laughable," he remarked.
The senator highlighted a growing distrust among the public towards government institutions, noting, "Is it any wonder public faith in government and many of our institutions is at an all-time low? People just don’t believe what they’re being told."
Calling for greater transparency, Tedisco stated, "It’s time for full transparency. No more secrets." He urged decisive action if authorities are truly unaware of the drones' purpose or origin: "If the government truly doesn’t know what these drones are, their purpose, or where they are from, then they need to shoot one down and find out. Enough is enough."
