Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C-Ballston Lake) today honored the retired members of the 247th Medical Company of the New York State Army National Guard and their families, recognizing their outstanding service and contributions to the community, state, and nation.
The 247th Medical Company was stationed at the Saratoga Springs Armory before it became the New York State Military Museum. The company provided critical medical support during emergencies and natural disasters, including distinguished service during the Cold War and commendable support during the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid.
“Today, I was proud to honor the everyday heroes of the 247th Medical Company of the New York State Army National Guard who exemplify the best of our community and our nation. These individuals, like all our veterans, were truly neighbors helping neighbors who helped others in times of need and stood as guardians to protect our way of life as part of the best, bravest and most compassionate fighting force for good on Earth: the men and women of the United States Armed Forces,” said Senator Jim Tedisco.
Senator Tedisco presented the 247th Medical Company with a New York State Senate Proclamation chronicling their service and each veteran with a New York State Senate Certificate of Merit.
