Senator Jim Tedisco expressed his frustration with the state budget extender process, comparing it to a total eclipse of darkness. In a statement, he remarked, “I didn’t think there would be a second eclipse so soon but if you want to see total darkness, just visit the state Capitol during this state budget process.”

Reflecting on the delayed budget, Senator Tedisco criticized the Majority's stance on prioritizing a good late budget over a bad on-time budget. He highlighted the constitutional deadline of April 1st and emphasized the unprecedented situation where all levers of power are controlled by one affiliation predominantly from one region of the state. Senator Tedisco placed the blame on the Governor and the Super Majorities in both houses, stating, “The Governor and the Super Majorities in both houses only have themselves to blame for this mess.”

Expressing the sentiments of his constituents, Senator Tedisco emphasized the importance of a timely and fiscally-sound budget. He stated, “None of my constituents go to work, sit there and not do their most important job and still expect to get paid. Our constituents don’t want extender after extender, they want a good, fiscally-sound, balanced, on-time budget. The legislature should come back and get the job done and get a budget passed!”

Senator Tedisco's remarks were delivered on the Senate Floor and can be viewed at the following link: [Senator Tedisco's remarks on the late budget](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuyr8VmGHNQ)
