Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C-Ballston Lake) had the privilege of welcoming United States Military Academy at West Point Cadet Micaela Choi of Burnt Hills to the Senate Chamber during the legislature's annual West Point Day ceremony at the Capitol. Cadet Choi, who is majoring in systems engineering at West Point, was acknowledged for her dedication and leadership within the academy.

As the daughter of two West Point graduates, Cadet Choi has been inspired by the exemplary individuals produced by the Army and West Point. She expressed her aspiration to emulate the caring leaders of character that her parents are, and her strong desire to serve the country during challenging times led her to pursue an education at the prestigious U.S. Military Academy.

In a statement, Senator Tedisco remarked, "It’s my honor to welcome from the 44th Senate District, West Point Cadet Micaela Choi of Burnt Hills to our beautiful state Capitol and salute her and all the members of the best, brightest and most compassionate fighting force for good on Earth: the men and women of the United States Military.”

Cadet Choi's commitment to service and her dedication to embodying the values of leadership and compassion exemplify the qualities that are highly regarded within the military community. Her presence at the Capitol serves as a reminder of the importance of supporting and recognizing the efforts of the men and women who serve in the United States Military.
