We had a fun day with students from Edinburg Common School and Northville Central School District today at the Great Sacandaga Lake where the students helped us stock Rainbow Trout.
Saratoga County Director of Planning and Economic Development, Jason Kemper explained why the County’s fish stocking program is an important environmental conservation effort and students learned about the history of the man-made lake with County Historian, Lauren Roberts. We thank Supervisors Diana Edwards (Town of Day) and Mo Wright (Town of Hadley) for joining us and all of the students and staff there today for helping us with this important environmental resource.
Saratoga County stocks Rainbow and Brook Trout throughout the county, ensuring that anglers young and old are provided ample opportunities during the fishing season. The Rainbow Trout were from Averys Fish Hatchery.
