Revenue and spending in Albany have both increased, but the returns for residents remain unsatisfactory, according to a recent statement. Simpson commented on the situation, saying, “Revenue is up, spending is up, but these do not commensurate with what residents are receiving in return. This is business as usual for Albany, another record-setting budget that fails to acknowledge it is fundamental spending problem and the state’s correlating affordability crisis.”

Simpson's remarks highlight ongoing concerns about fiscal management in Albany. The statement suggests that despite financial growth, there has been little improvement in services or benefits for the community.
