Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh, representing the 112th Assembly District, has been sworn in for her fifth term in the New York State Assembly. The ceremony took place at the Saratoga Supreme Court in Ballston Spa and was conducted by her husband, Hon. James E. Walsh, Esq., with their son Terry Hynes holding the family Bible.
The 112th Assembly District covers parts of three counties and includes several towns and villages such as Ballston, Broadalbin, Charlton, Clifton Park, Galway, Glenville, Halfmoon, Milton, Perth, Providence, Ballston Spa, and Broadalbin.
Walsh was first elected to the Assembly in 2016. She has recently been appointed as the Assembly Minority Leader Pro Tempore. This role makes her the second highest-ranking member within the Minority Conference.
Expressing her gratitude for continued support from her constituents across the district, Walsh stated: “I am deeply grateful for the trust and support of the communities I serve across the 112th Assembly District and for allowing me to continue standing up for them in Albany.” She also mentioned her eagerness to begin work in Albany: “It’s also an incredible honor to be appointed Assembly Minority Leader Pro Tempore, and I’m eager to get back to Albany and hit the ground running for the constituents of the 112th and all New Yorkers.”
Walsh will return to Albany on January 8 to commence work in the new legislative session.
