State Senator Dan Stec has commented on the recent appointment of Congresswoman Elise Stefanik as the next Ambassador to the United Nations. In his statement, Stec expressed his congratulations to Stefanik, referring to her selection as a "richly deserved honor" and positive news for the North Country.

Stec highlighted his working relationship with Stefanik, noting their collaboration on national security and economic issues affecting their constituents. He praised her past efforts in the House of Representatives and expressed confidence in her ability to represent U.S. national security interests at the United Nations.

"I’d like to congratulate my good friend, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, on being chosen as the next Ambassador to the United Nations," said Stec. "She has been an excellent partner in government and I’ve enjoyed being able to work with her on the national security and economic issues our constituents face."

Stefanik's appointment marks a significant step in her political career, transitioning from representing her district in Congress to taking on a role at an international level.

"I know that she’ll be a powerful voice for our national security interests, just as she was a strong voice for her constituents in the House of Representatives," Stec added.
