Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh recognized Morris Ford's inclusion in the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry. She presented a proclamation to the business, marking its induction following her nomination. Members of the Morris family attended the event to accept this honor.
Morris Ford is among ten businesses Walsh can nominate for this registry each legislative term. Other local businesses and organizations, such as Ballston Spa National Bank and Bowman Orchards, have also been nominated by Walsh recently.
The registry program is managed by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation. It highlights businesses that have operated for at least 50 years and contributed to their community's history.
“Morris Ford has been a cornerstone of the Burnt Hills and greater Capital Region communities for more than five decades,” said Walsh. “To not only stay in business that long but remain a family-owned operation is a remarkable achievement. Their dedication to giving back and consistently going above and beyond for the community is truly something to celebrate. In an era when trust is increasingly hard to come by, Morris Ford’s reputation as a trusted name is something we can all admire.”
