As the COVID-19 pandemic wears on, blood donors and blood drive hosts are as essential as ever. American Red Cross blood drives continue to be canceled as many organizations have made the difficult decision to restrict public access to their facilities once open to local events and members of the public.

Together with the Red Cross, the CEOs of Glens Falls-area businesses and organizations have stepped up to address this need through the “Distance Saves Lives” blood drive, a bi-weekly event to collect life-saving blood for patients in need. The drive will kick off on Nov. 4, continuing every other Wednesday through January.

This effort by local leaders represents the community’s continued focus on helping one another throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The blood drive is being organized by Hudson Headwaters Health Network and collectively supported by:

November 4, 2020 – Hudson Headwaters Health Network & Hudson Headwaters 340b

November 18, 2020 – SUNY Adirondack  & Adirondack Chamber of Commerce

December 2, 2020 – TCT Credit Union

December 16, 2020 – Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark

December 30, 2020 – Hudson River Community Credit Union

January 13, 2021 – Glens Falls Hospital

January 27, 2021 – Arrow Companies & Glens Falls National Bank
