ADIRONDACK REGIONAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Warren County Board of Supervisors Hires Mason as Warren County Director of Emergency Services

Zz

Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement.

The Warren County Board of Supervisors has hired Queensbury resident Ann Marie Mason to replace the retiring Brian LaFlure as Warren County Director of Emergency Services.

Mason comes to Warren County from Hudson Headwaters Health Network, where she has served as risk management manager and privacy officer. She previously worked as Queensbury Union Free School District’s chief emergency officer, and is a graduate of Adirondack Community College, now known as SUNY Adirondack.

Mason plans to begin the new position November 3. LaFlure will move to a temporary role with the Office of Emergency Services (OES) to assist Mason with the transition and continue to serve as Warren County Fire Coordinator until that position is filled as well. The identification of a new fire coordinator will begin when Mason becomes OES director.

“I'm extremely excited about the opportunity to work for the county as the Director of the Office of Emergency Services. I'm looking forward to getting started,” Mason said.

LaFlure is retiring after 13 years as Warren County’s Emergency Services Director and Fire Coordinator, part of a career that spans nearly 49 years in emergency services.

He had planned to retire last winter, but stayed on to help guide the county’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I would like to extend a warm welcome to Ann Marie Mason to Warren County as our new Director of Emergency Services,” said Frank Thomas, Stony Creek Town Supervisor and Chairman of the Warren County Board of Supervisors. “I hope your time with Warren County will be long and rewarding. Congratulations to Brian LaFlure on his retirement and thank you for your many years of service to the residents of Warren County.”
