State Representative Matthew Simpson has called for the New York State Legislature to address affordability issues as it prepares for its next session. Simpson emphasized the need to reduce financial pressures on families and small businesses.

“The Legislature needs to focus on making everyday life more affordable for New Yorkers by easing the cost pressures families and small businesses feel every day. That starts with lowering the cost of energy and taking a realistic approach to electrification so state mandates do not drive more residents and jobs out of New York,” said Simpson.

Simpson’s remarks come as lawmakers consider policies that impact energy costs and economic conditions across the state.
