Senator Jim Tedisco, a New York State legislator known for his advocacy on community and government reform issues, recently used social media to comment on state budget transparency, tax burdens, and youth leadership recognition.

On April 13, 2026, Tedisco posted criticism of the state budget process: “A total eclipse is coming here at the state Capitol with no transparency for taxpayers! The Governor will use messages of necessity as messages of convenience to ram through a $260 billion state budget. It will be a total eclipse. In darkness, democracy dies…”

Two days later, on April 15, he highlighted local achievement in education by posting: “Tedisco honors Galway High junior with NYS Senate youth leadership award”.

That same day, Tedisco addressed the state’s tax environment: “Today is tax day. Unfortunately, every day in NY is tax day leading to a mass exodus of New Yorkers who are fleeing our beautiful state in droves. They’re not only going to FL, TX & TN but also NJ & PA. The only New Yorkers who should be hitting the road are these two tax hikers!”

Senator Tedisco serves as ranking member of both the Racing, Gaming and Wagering Committee and the Education Committee in the New York State Senate (source). He has received several accolades for his athletic achievements at Union College and his work on community issues such as animal protection and missing persons programs (source). Tedisco’s legislative efforts include advocating for property tax control and accountability in government processes (source).
