Rep. Elise Stefanik, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 21st District since 2015, has been vocal on several significant issues through her recent online posts. These comments range from airport designation initiatives to opinions on national and international policies.
On April 26, 2025, Stefanik expressed her continued efforts to designate Plattsburgh International Airport as an official port of entry. She stated, “I’m proud to once again push for Plattsburgh International Airport to become an official port of entry! In my letter to Homeland Security Secretary @KristiNoem, I’m highlighting how this designation would save the airport upwards of $800,000 annually—money currently spent on” as she communicated with Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, emphasizing the financial benefits of such a change.
On the following day, April 27, 2025, Stefanik shared her belief in President Trump’s capabilities concerning the Ukraine conflict. She remarked, “President @realDonaldTrump was elected to bring peace to the bloody conflicts that grew out of Joe Biden’s failed policies. And that is exactly what he is trying to do. I trust President Trump’s ability to negotiate peace in Ukraine.”
Later on the same day, Stefanik focused on education and sports, reinforcing compliance with federal funding stipulations. She stated, “Under Title IX and articulated in President Trump’s Executive Order 14201, educational institutions that receive federal funding must be in compliance with Title IX’s requirements to protect opportunities for women and girls to compete in safe and fair sports.”
Stefanik, a Harvard University graduate born in Albany in 1984 and residing in Schuylerville, continues to influence her district and beyond through congressional service and social media engagement.
