New York’s budget for this year is experiencing delays, as highlighted by a recent statement. “Today’s budget extender means this year’s budget will be at least two weeks late, and likely even later,” said Simpson. Concerns have been raised regarding the transparency and fiscal discipline of the process. Simpson further noted, “New Yorkers deserve an on-time budget that reflects transparency and fiscal discipline. Instead, we have closed-door negotiations with uncontrolled spending.”
