Glens Falls officials announced on April 7 that the city has completed a draft of its Smart Growth Comprehensive Plan and is seeking additional public feedback before final adoption. The plan, developed over about a year with input from city staff, residents, and contractor EDR, will guide development in Glens Falls for the next decade.

The comprehensive plan addresses various aspects of life in the community and aims to shape future growth and improvements. City officials said they value resident participation in this process and encourage feedback to ensure the document reflects community priorities.

Residents are invited to review the draft plan and submit comments by May 1 at noon. Feedback can be shared during two upcoming public hearings at Common Council meetings scheduled for April 14 and April 28 at 7:25 p.m., held on the third floor of City Hall at 42 Ridge Street. Those unable to attend can email their ideas or concerns to directorofplanning-zoning@cityofglensfallsny.gov using the subject line “Comprehensive Plan Comments” by the deadline.

The latest draft is available online through the city’s Document Center website in the Planning & Zoning Department folder as well as on Glens Falls’ Comp Plan website, which also provides more information about the process. Additional details about meeting agendas can be found on the city’s Agenda Page.

Officials thanked residents for their participation so far and reiterated that community involvement is important as Glens Falls finalizes its vision for future development.
