The City of Glens Falls announced on April 14 that public comment will begin tonight for its draft comprehensive plan at the Common Council meeting, scheduled for 7:20 p.m. on the third floor of City Hall.

The comprehensive plan is designed to guide development in Glens Falls over the next decade and covers a range of topics affecting city life. Residents are encouraged to share their ideas or concerns about the proposed plan during two public hearings, which are set to take place before upcoming Common Council meetings on April 14 and April 28 at City Hall, located at 42 Ridge Street.

In addition to attending in person, community members can submit feedback by emailing directorofplanning-zoning@cityofglensfallsny.gov with the subject line “Comprehensive Plan Comments” by May 8 at noon. The city invites residents to review both the main document and its appendices before submitting comments. The draft comprehensive plan is available online here, with appendices accessible here.

Officials said that community participation is important as it will help shape decisions regarding future growth and improvements within Glens Falls. Public input collected through these hearings and emails will be considered as part of the finalization process for the city’s long-term planning document.

Residents have until May 8 at noon to provide their feedback, after which city officials will review all submissions ahead of any further action.
