The Glens Falls Cemetery has been temporarily closed because of heavy snow accumulation. The Department of Public Works made the decision to prevent possible damage to gravestones located near the roads within the cemetery.

A statement from the City of Glens Falls said, “The Glens Falls Cemetery will close temporarily due to the snow accumulation. The Department of Public Works does not want to jeopardize damaging the stones near the roads. We will reopen as soon as possible. Thank you from the City of Glens Falls.”

City officials have not provided a specific date for reopening but indicated that access will be restored once conditions allow and it is safe for visitors and maintenance crews.
