Rep. Elise Stefanik, serving New York’s 21st district in the U.S. Congress, expressed satisfaction on social media with recent legislative accomplishments. Her remarks focus on bipartisan efforts to recognize historic achievements and enhance national security.
On April 28, 2025, Stefanik posted about the passage of the Miracle on Ice Congressional Gold Medal Act. She stated, “Thrilled to see the Miracle on Ice Congressional Gold Medal Act pass the House!” She expressed pride in co-leading the bill that would grant Congressional Gold Medals to the 1980 U.S. Olympic Men’s Hockey Team for their victory over the Soviet Union, calling it a historic moment.
A subsequent tweet on the same day urged followers to “Read more” on the subject, providing a link for additional information.
Later that day, Stefanik tweeted about the approval of another measure. She posted, “BIG WIN for national security! I’m proud to co-lead the Foreign Adversary Communications Transparency Act, which just PASSED the House.” She emphasized the bill’s requirement for the FCC to reveal telecom companies with connections to countries like Communist China, Russia, Iran, or North Korea, framing it as a step towards prioritizing national interests.
Stefanik, a Harvard graduate born in Albany, New York, and currently residing in Schuylerville, has served since 2015 after succeeding Bill Owens.
