Rep. Elise Stefanik, a U.S. Congress member representing New York’s 21st District since 2015, recently shared her thoughts and initiatives through a series of tweets on May 14, 2025. These tweets reflect her focus on law enforcement appreciation, educational reform, and historical preservation.
On May 14, Rep. Stefanik highlighted the importance of recognizing the “courage, sacrifice, and selflessness” of law enforcement officers in Upstate New York and across the state. She urged reflection on these qualities as they are demonstrated daily by officers “particularly in Upstate New York and across our great state.”
In another tweet posted later that day, Rep. Stefanik expressed pride in co-leading the Educational Choice for Children Act. This legislation aims to broaden school choice options and enhance educational opportunities for students “trapped in failing school systems.”
Further emphasizing historical awareness, Rep. Stefanik advocated for restoring the word ‘battlefield’ to a park’s name to honor those who fought during America’s founding period. She stated this change would help future generations understand the significance of such sites “and helps ensure that all future generations understand the full historical importance of the sacred ground.”
Elise Stefanik was born in Albany, New York in 1984 and currently resides in Schuylerville. She graduated from Harvard University with an AB degree.
