Elise Stefanik, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 21st district, has recently weighed in on several key issues via social media. Her comments reflect her stance on assisted suicide legislation, defense technology strategies, and parole board decisions.
On May 1, 2025, Stefanik criticized the New York State Assembly’s decision to pass an assisted suicide bill. She expressed her disapproval, stating that “The New York State Assembly’s decision to pass this disgusting assisted suicide bill is a shameful attack on the sanctity of life and a betrayal of our most vulnerable citizens.” She further attributed this legislative move to Governor Hochul’s allies and labeled it as a normalization of terminating life.
Later on the same day, Stefanik highlighted her support for a key defense technology initiative. She reaffirmed her advocacy by stating “I have consistently championed this initiative as the cornerstone of America’s next-generation defense technology strategy.” Her remarks underscore the importance she places on accelerating advancements toward quantum technology and national security.
On May 3, 2025, Stefanik commented on Governor Kathy Hochul’s leadership, particularly in relation to the state’s parole board. She expressed outrage over the potential parole of an individual involved in violent actions against an NYPD officer. In her words, “Kathy Hochul’s criminal-first Parole Board is considering parole for a violent criminal thug who threw a brave NYPD cop off a Times Square roof.” She viewed this as a betrayal of justice and an indictment of Hochul’s leadership.
Elise Stefanik, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 21st district, replaced Bill Owens in 2015.
