Rep. Elise Stefanik, a U.S. Congress member representing New York’s 21st district since 2015, shared updates on her recent activities and concerns via social media on May 15, 2025.
In a post from earlier that day, Stefanik highlighted the opening of a new healthcare facility in Washington County. She stated, “Team Elise recently attended a ribbon cutting for the new @HudsHeadwaters Salem Family Health, bringing another location to the residents of Washington County. This new location will provide care to the residents and bring jobs to the community.” The establishment aims to enhance local healthcare access and contribute to job creation in the area.
Later that afternoon, Stefanik addressed issues concerning Second Amendment rights in New York State. She remarked, “Today, I am bringing to @AGPamBondi’s attention New York State’s continued infringement upon the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.” Stefanik expressed her concern over what she views as unconstitutional restrictions imposed by the state despite existing Supreme Court precedents.
In another update posted later that evening, Stefanik reflected on international matters involving American hostages. She wrote about Edan Alexander’s release but emphasized ongoing concerns: “As we celebrate Edan Alexander’s release, we must not forget the four Americans still held hostage in Gaza.” Additionally, she mentioned meeting with parents of Omer Neutra—a New Yorker murdered in October—whose body remains held by Hamas.
Elise Stefanik was born in Albany in 1984 and currently resides in Schuylerville. A Harvard University graduate with an AB degree, she succeeded Bill Owens as a congressional representative for New York’s 21st District.
