State Senator Jim Tedisco strongly criticized the Senate Majority's budget proposal, labeling it as "The Mother of All Exodus Budgets." Tedisco expressed his concerns about the excessive spending in the budget, stating, "Where’s the printing press to print $13 billion in cash for new spending of taxpayer funds for the Senate Majority’s one-house state budget plan that was passed today? They can’t use Monopoly money to pay for it!"

Tedisco warned that if the spending plan is implemented, it will burden hard-working taxpayers and small businesses in the state. He highlighted the alarming trend of people leaving New York, with over 101,000 individuals having migrated out of the state last year alone.

While acknowledging positive aspects of the budget such as support for education and direct care workers, Tedisco criticized the overall approach, stating, "it just doubles down on the same bad medicine of misplaced spending priorities and over-taxing that has led to people escaping from New York."

Expressing disappointment in the lack of measures to address the state's economic challenges, Tedisco questioned the effectiveness of the budget in retaining residents, remarking, "I thought the Governor and Super-Majorities in the Senate and Assembly said they had a plan to keep New Yorkers in our beautiful state and not cause them to flee. Unfortunately, under this one-house budget, it seems the only businesses being helped are U-Haul and the travel industry to create incentives for New Yorkers to buy one-way tickets out of our beautiful Empire State."
